Nnate Gives Flowers Monday: Jason Weaver

One of my forever favorite actors will forever be Jason Weaver. He deserves so many flowers for what he has contributed to this game and our childhood.

One of his first television roles came in 1990 when he got the role of Matthew Thomas in the ABC series Brewster Place.

In 1992 he starred in the The Jacksons: An American Dream mini series, as a young Michael Jackson. This is one of my favorite roles of his. His voice was amazing and he did a great job bringing emotions to Michael as a child.

In 1993 he got the role of Jerome Turrell in the tv series Thea.

In 1994 he got the role for the singing voice of Simba in Disney's The Lion King. Another one of my favorite roles and I always questioned why didnt get to do the voice role as well. (side eyes Disney)

In 1997 he began to star in my favorite role of his, as Marcus Henderson in the hit sitcom Smart Guy. This was the blackest kid show we had growing up idc idc. Smart Guy was so underrated.

He even guest starred on an Episode of Sister Sister in 1996 as Darnell Nicky.

In 2002 he starred in Drumline as Ernest.

In 2006 he starred in ATL as the hilarious Teddy.

In 2003 he starred as Vince in Love for Sale.

In 2010 he starred as Ray Ray in Lottery Ticket.

In 2011 he starred as Condor in the tv series The Lebron's.

In 2012 he starred in the film Dysfunctional Friends as Gary.

In 2017 he starred in the Amazon Prime movie Unfaithful as Frankie Lawrence.

In 2021 he began a recurring role on The Chi as Rashaad "Shaad" Marshall.

Of course Jason has more roles than I have listed but these were some of my favorites. I hope he knows how much we all love and appreciate him. Thanks for reading!
