5 years ago today Beyoncé dropped her critically acclaimed 6th album: Lemonade. I’m not exaggerating when I say this album changed my life. I still remember waiting for the film to drop on HBO and just being in awe, I have never seen such beautiful story telling from a musician. A lot of people tend to think this album is just about infidelity but It’s deeper than that. Its about black women and our strength. Even as a little girl we notice our parents and ancestors that came before us and understand their story and take their lessons with us but though we may not fully understand it until we get older and start to create our own stories and create our own families. This album is about history, this album is about forgiveness and this album is about love. When you really love someone letting them in and learning each other growing together. Learning your flaws and finding your strength. Understanding that its okay to be heart broken acknowledging your pain but what are you going to do after that? You have to get up and fight to get back to yourself and to what makes you happy. Thank you Beyoncé Happy 5th Anniversary Lemonade. 🐝🍋❤️
